Drumbilical
Drumbilical is a women’s hand drumming and dancing group, based in Adelaide, that plays world music, with its main influences being African and Latin American (Cuban and Brazilian). We were formed through the common love for the resonating sounds of the music and the rhythmic dancing moves. We studied together in Adelaide under Phil Jones (drumming) and Sally Miller (African dancing) and decided we’d love to perform together – hence the birth of Drumbilical. Members include Natalie Djemailovic, Angela Duffy, Alison Ford, Kate Graham, Joy O’Hazy, Rachel Tyne We all can play the djembe, congas and dundun drums as well as various small percussion instruments.
