Topic - Woman Centred Care
Midwives managing woman centred care provision within institutionalised health frameworks can be innovative, frustrating, empowering and limiting. This presentation will discuss the various ways that midwives provide care for women in hospital systems focusing on ways to improve the centredness of the woman in the care provided. She will discuss various models of midwifery care but will mainly discuss how 'routine' fragmented systems of hospital care can be managed to ensure women receive appropriate, positive and satisfying care, with less interventions and healthier outcomes.
